The Pressure Privilege: A Well-Being Plan

Having pressure through your job is a privilege

The great American tennis player Billie Jean King coined this phrase. To have pressure at work is a privilege. If people and organisations need your skills and need you, then grab this opportunity as you are being appreciated for what you do. We aim to turn you and the teams we work with into Business Athletes. The core to working with you and teams is helping create a well-being plan to develop your Mental Toughness and Leadership capability. Mental skills are part of our Well-Being dimensions and internal capabilities that help a person improve performance by learning to control their minds efficiently and consistently as they execute attainable goals.

Mental Skills Training (MST) comes from the field of sport psychology and encompasses training and tools to help athletes work on being more consistent with their mental game in order to improve physical performance and accomplish athletic goals.

Learning to live with disequilibrium

We have taken this concept to create Business Athletes. Key qualities that our plan includes are:

Connecting to purpose – 21st Century stimulation: Vision, responsibility, humility, authenticity, integrity, resilience and adaptability – Empowering the learner – Creating a safe and different environment for thinking well – Creative and emotionally engaging learning opportunities – Courageously modelling authenticity – Insisting on seeing action as a result of learning.
