My name is Steve Bruckshaw and welcome to The Wild Workplace. A truly unique well-being nature business. Here at The Wild Workplace, the focus is on developing leaders & key individuals in ‘Naturally Tough’ Well-Being. I seek to create sustainable self belief to embrace ambiguity in The Wild Workplace. I specialise in drawing on natures principles and aligning them to Mental Toughness & Well-Being for high performance development. My style is natural & provocative. I constantly seek to work with original minds and creative thinkers. Mental Toughness is a crucial & learnable personality trait. We all have it inside us but it needs developing to keep us safe, focused & strong. Well-Being is a complex pattern of developing relationships overtime & the concert of interaction. These two elements are aligned to Natures Principles: Resilience, Optimizing, Life Supporting, Values Based, Systems Based & Adaptive.
As an Environmental Psychologist and Coach, I specialise in developing people to learn from nature, for a world of new and tough realities (VUCA – Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambigious). I have many years of professional experience from an eclectic learning and development arena, providing a wealth of knowledge and perspective. My career positions have included; Head of Learning and Development, Senior Public Affairs Specialist & National Leadership Trainer & running my own business now for over 10 years.
I have a Master’s Degree in People Development, a Social Psychology Degree, advanced coaching and NLP Master Practioner accreditations. I also hold a Psychometric European User Licence with the BPS. I hold fellowships with ILM & LPI. I have memberships with The British Psychological Society, The Association for Business Psychology, The Association for Coaching, The Institute of Outdoor Learning and The British Mountaineering Council.
I often get asked to speak at events on nature and resilience. Most recently, I spoke on ‘Resilience In The Workplace’ at The Association of Chief Executives receiving excellent feedback. I am available to talk and motivate on how nature needs to be used to drive leadership and Well-Being.
My passion is nature. We are all wired to be outside. Unfortunately, the artificial world stops people from renewing through nature. I am focused on developing leader Well-Being and Mental Toughness throughout all organisations at all levels. MT and Well-Being linked to natures principles, are vital and pivotal elements in this complex and volatile world. My passion for the outdoors and walking the Lakeland Fells and Yorkshire Dales is included in elements of my training and coaching. The great outdoors is an environment where physical space tugs at the heart, fitness, and challenges the mind. This translates into my unique coaching and training approach where clean thinking, mindfulness and physical exhilaration provides powerful motivation. I help develop meaningful behavioural change skills, handle pressure and improve self-management of challenge. The Wild Workplace is provocatively different, developing leaders, talented people and restless minds outside their comfort zones.
The business and my values are: Nerve, Altruism, Tolerance, Understanding, Resilience and Encouragement. (NATURE)
